MEET EVELYN MYRIE
I’ve been called an anti-discrimination trailblazer.
As EMPOWER Strategy Group’s lead consultant, I help shape the policies that allow an anti-racism culture to thrive.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) aren’t just part of my job description. They’re the values that have been a part of every role I’ve ever had.
I am the founder and principal Consultant at EMpower Strategy Group-a leading consultancy firm specializing in helping organizations in their equity, diversity and inclusion goals:
Program director at Status of Women Canada
Executive director of the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion
Founding director of Peel Newcomer Strategy Group
Co-founder of the Rev. John C. Holland Awards to recognize Black achievement in Hamilton
I’ve been honoured to receive several awards for leadership including:
Woman of the Year in Public Affairs
The Phenomenal Woman award
The Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals
An induction into Hamilton’s prestigious Gallery of Distinction
Recipient of the Order of Hamilton
100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women Award
While at Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion, I led the launch of Hamilton's first and only diversity recognition program. Today, I’m guiding the reopening of Hamilton’s Anti-Racism Resource Centre.
